Police Ride Alongs!

I wanted to email you the information about the Policy Ride-Alongs that was discussed at the last class day. For those who were absent, the Johns Creek Police Department is allowing us to ride along with a policeman during a shift. You need to schedule your time by calling Kathy Shiplett at 678-474-1561. Please complete this assignment by the April class day. We will share experiences during that class!

Several forms are required. The police department will conduct a background check, and requires a waiver. Email Sarah if you did not receive the email from Linda with the forms attached. The original forms must be returned to:

Kathy Shiplett
11445 Johns Creek Pkwy, Suite 200
Johns Creek, GA 30097

This has always been one of the most fun activities for past classes. They have really enjoyed sharing their experiences. Obviously, the more adventurous will want to pick a weekend night for their shift!

If you have any questions, please email LNF Board member, Ivan Figueroa at ivan.figueroa@johnscreekga.gov.

February Class

Education Day
Thursday, February 19

The Teaching Museum North is hosting and sponsoring breakfast for us this month. I think you will enjoy seeing that wonderful museum!

The Teaching Museum is located at 791 Mimosa Boulevard, Roswell. It shares a building with Crossroads North. There is an entrance into the parking lot off Alpharetta Highway, across from the Krispie Creme at Oak Street. Walk around to the front of the building facing Mimosa Blvd to enter the museum. During the day, we will divide into 2 groups to tour area schools. Please be prepared to carpool because parking is very limited on the school campuses.

Due to the tours, lunch will be delayed until 1:15pm. Don't worry though- we will have a good breakfast in the morning, and snacks to carry you through until lunch. I've condensed the schedule in the afternoon so we can finish the day at 4pm.

Welcome Class of 2009

This is your blog to use! We will occasionally post things for you - so make sure you check-in regularly. But this is mainly for you to communicate with your class. Take care and let me know if I can help with anything along the way. -Sarah Christenson 678-397-0562
